Sponsor a classroom — $199This is what makes it a sponsorship rather than a donation. Every book that school opens carries your name on its back cover, above the line naming the school and the year. It is inside the file itself, so it is there when a child opens the book on a tablet with no connection, and it stays there.
If there is a school you have a connection to — the village you or your parents came from, a school you have visited — name it here. We will write to them. A school we have never heard of is the most useful thing anyone tells us.
Above one classroom, a sponsorship is a conversation rather than a button. These are arranged by invoice — tell us which one interests you and we will write back with the schools we have waiting.

Every book we have published, as a file on their own devices. Each book has the words in two languages, a recording of each language read aloud by a fluent speaker, and the words lighting up in time with the voice. Once a book is on a device it opens with no connection.
The books already on the school's devices keep working. What the year covers is the school's licence to put the books on new devices and to receive the titles we publish during it. We write to you before it ends so you can decide whether to sponsor another year.
Yes. There is a box at the checkout for it. If you leave it blank we place your sponsorship with a school that is waiting, and email you its name.

It is a purchase of a school licence on a school's behalf, not a general donation, and we are not able to issue a tax receipt for it. Write to hello@icanreadfoundation.org if you need something for your records.
Write to us and we will refund it. One thing to know, because it is the honest answer rather than the tidy one: books that are already on the school's devices keep working. They are ordinary files with no lock in them — that is a deliberate promise to the schools, and there is no mechanism by which a refund could reach into a tablet in a classroom. What a refund ends is the school's licence to put the books on new devices and to receive new titles.
